The Government of Kerala on March 26, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Instructions to Consumers regarding the LPG Distribution Restrictions.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Due to the Middle East conflict, the Central and Kerala Governments have imposed restrictions on LPG distribution, prioritizing essential needs.

• Priority sectors (100% supply) include hospitals, schools/anganwadis, hostels, crematoriums, community kitchens, and care homes, while semi-priority sectors (like hotels/restaurants) receive up to 40% supply.

• Commercial and industrial users are advised to shift to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) where available, or face possible future LPG restrictions.

• A SOS web portal has been launched for emergency LPG needs, and district-level committees are managing and monitoring supply.

• Strict enforcement and inspections are in place to prevent misuse, hoarding, and black marketing; the public is advised not to panic or hoard and to report violations.
