Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of General Administration Goa (DGA Goa), on April 23, 2026, issued a notification amending the Business of the Government of Goa (Allocation) Rules, 1987, through the Fifty-seventh Amendment Rules, 2026, under powers conferred by Article 166 of the Constitution of India. The amendment comes into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

The amendment inserts a new entry (Serial No. 58) in the Schedule, formally allocating functions to the newly specified Department of AYUSH. The responsibilities assigned include implementation of the National AYUSH Mission and other central schemes, administration of AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries, and management of integrated AYUSH hospitals at Velguem and Monti Hill, Margao.

Additionally, the Department will oversee development of wellness centres, promotion of Yoga, Naturopathy and Panchakarma therapies, regulation of councils such as the Goa Homoeopathy Council and Ayurvedic systems council, and advancement of AYUSH education, research, and medical tourism, along with overall policy formulation and strategic development of AYUSH systems in the State.
