The following has been stated: -
•The Nagar Panchayat Kandaghat drafted Trade Bye-Laws, 2025, which were published for public objections, but no suggestions were received within the stipulated period.
•The bye-laws have been officially notified under the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 1994, to regulate trade activities within municipal limits.
•They mandate that all businesses and premises must obtain a valid trade license before operating or storing goods.
•The rules define key terms, licensing procedures, validity (1 year), renewal, transfer, closure, and modification of licenses.
•Special provisions are included for temporary trade licenses for events, fairs, and mobile vendors.
•Conditions for granting licenses include mandatory registrations, compliance with municipal dues, and adherence to inspection norms.
•Penalties are prescribed for violations, including fines, suspension, or cancellation of licenses for repeated offenses or false declarations.
•Additionally, non-compliance with municipal services may lead to cross-penalties, including denial of trade license services and suspension of other utilities.
