The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on April 28, 2026, issued the direction on ‘Reporting Instructions for Authorised Dealer Category-I Banks’.
The following has been stated:
It has issued draft directions on February 16, 2026, regarding reporting instructions for Authorised Dealer Category-I banks and invited feedback from stakeholders. The aim of these directions is to improve transparency in the foreign exchange market by requiring these banks to report all INR-related foreign exchange derivative transactions undertaken globally by their related parties to the Trade Repository of the Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL). After reviewing the feedback received, the RBI incorporated necessary modifications into the final directions, while specific suggestions related to reporting formats and operational issues were forwarded to CCIL for further examination.
