The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), on April 23, 2026, has issued directions to all Access Service Providers regarding a change in the mapping of short code ‘1916’ allocated to the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
As per the notification, the terminating number for short code 1916 has been revised only for Bangalore city from 8041947160 to 080-25061592. The nodal contact person for the updated mapping is Ashwini D H (AEE-MIS-1) with contact number 8951026806 and email [email protected].
All other features of the short code remain unchanged, and telecom service providers have been advised to take necessary action for implementation.
