The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on April 27, 2026, issued the Reserve Bank of India (Regional Rural Banks – Undertaking of Financial Services) – Amendment Directions, 2026 to amend the Reserve Bank of India (Regional Rural Banks – Undertaking of Financial Services) Directions, 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The Reserve Bank of India has issued Amendment Directions under Section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, in public interest.
•The amendment introduces “AgriSURE – Agri Fund for Start Ups & Rural Enterprises” as an addition to Annex I of the existing Directions.
•This expands the scope of recognized initiatives under the framework.
•The amendment is effective immediately.
