The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on April 27, 2026, issued the Reserve Bank of India (Local Area Banks – Miscellaneous) – Amendment Directions, 2026 to amend the Reserve Bank of India (Local Area Banks – Miscellaneous) Directions, 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The Reserve Bank of India has issued Amendment Directions under Sections 26A and 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, in public interest.
•The amendment adds “AgriSURE – Agri Fund for Start Ups & Rural Enterprises” to Annex XII of the existing Directions.
•This inclusion expands the scope of recognized schemes under the regulatory framework.
•The amendment comes into effect immediately.
