The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on April 27, 2026, issued a notification regarding Nano Fertilisers under Fertiliser Control Order, 1985.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government has notified four nano fertilisers—Nano Zinc (liquid), Nano NPK (10-10-10), Nano NP (08-16), and Nano NPK (6-10-4)—under the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985, for a period of two years.
•These products, to be manufactured by M/s Meghmani Crop Nutrition Limited and M/s DCM Shriram Limited, must meet specified standards for nutrient content, particle size (minimum 50% below 100 nm), and zeta potential.
•The notification ensures quality and uniform specifications for nano fertilisers in India. Manufacturers are prohibited from forced sales by bundling nano fertilisers with other agri-inputs.
•They must also provide clear usage instructions (crop-wise dosage, stage, and method) on labels or leaflets and conduct farmer awareness demonstrations through Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
