The Department of Tourism (DDT), Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, on April 24, 2026, issued a circular to rationalize and reduce the documentation requirements for registration/licensing of Homestay/Bed & Breakfast establishments under Category ‘E’ pursuant to the Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982 and the relevant rules.
The circular supersedes earlier instructions and aims to promote ease of doing business and encourage participation of local residents in tourism-related activities. In line with Rule 3 of the Goa, Daman and Diu Registration of Tourist Trade Rules, 1985 (as amended), the department has streamlined the application process by minimizing the number of supporting documents required.
Under the revised framework, applicants are now required to submit only essential documents, including Aadhaar Card, Completion/Occupancy Certificate (or equivalent certification from local authorities along with structural stability certificate), and Rent Agreement (where applicable), thereby simplifying compliance and facilitating faster registrations.
