The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), on 2026, notified the computation of retail price for a formulation containing Vitamin D3 (1000 IU per 5g sachet) under Para 5 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 based on September 2025 data. The authority has calculated the worked out retail price at ₹9.52 per sachet (excluding GST).
The notification notes that the claimed price by the manufacturer was ₹12.00 per sachet (excluding GST); however, after applying the prescribed pricing methodology under DPCO, the proposed retail price has been fixed at ₹9.52, aligning with regulatory norms to ensure affordability and prevent overpricing of scheduled formulations.
This price fixation is binding, and manufacturers are required to adhere to the notified retail price (plus applicable GST).
