The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on May 07, 2026, issued a notification regarding the fixation of the retail price of Benzathine Benzylpenicillin Injection.
The following has been stated: -
•NPPA has issued a revised draft working sheet for fixation of the ceiling price of Benzathine Benzylpenicillin 600000 IU injection under DPCO, 2013, based on October 2023 market data.
•The final ceiling price has been fixed at ₹13.42 per vial (excluding GST) after applying WPI increases up to April 2026.
•The calculation considered only one qualifying brand, PENIDURE LA of Pfizer Limited, with a market share above 1%.
•An average monopoly-based price reduction of 12.42% was applied while determining the permissible price ceiling.
