DGFT notified regarding the Amendment in Export Policy of Feathers

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on April 10, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Amendment in Export Policy of Feathers.

The following has been stated namely: -

• A new Policy Condition 5 has been introduced for exports of specified feather, skin, and animal-origin products to align with EU/UK regulations. 

• Exporters must obtain a consignment-wise Veterinary Certificate/Shipment Clearance Certificate from CAPEXIL containing exporter and plant details, IEC, approval number, and other shipment information. 

• After shipment, exporters must provide a Production Process Certificate or Veterinary Health Certificate to buyers with details such as HS code, packaging, origin, destination, vessel name, departure date, and veterinary compliance information. 

• The revised rules apply to ITC(HS) codes 05051090, 05059029, and 05059099 (feathers, skins, and related parts). The Veterinary Health Certificate will be jointly issued by CAPEXIL and the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying wherever required by the importing country.
