Commercial ComplianceThe Municipal Corporation Una, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on April 24, 2026, issued the Municipal Corporation Una Erection, Exhibition, Affixation of Advertisement and Hoarding Bye-laws 2025.

The following has been stated:

• The bye-laws prohibit the erection or display of any advertisement on land, buildings, walls, structures, or vehicles without prior written permission from the Commissioner, except for Central and State Government hoardings highlighting government achievements. Applicants seeking permission must submit details of location, size, and nature of hoardings, after which the Corporation will inspect the site, assess charges, and grant time-bound permission upon payment of prescribed fees.

• The bye-laws prescribe that all hoardings must follow size limits, aesthetic standards, and safety norms, and cannot be installed in heritage areas, on sharp curves, natural water sources, trees, drains, fire hydrants, garbage containers, or places affecting flora. Unauthorized hoardings may be impounded, and violators will face penalties. A penalty of ₹2,000 per square foot per day has been prescribed for unauthorized hoardings, while failure to remove hoardings after expiry of permission can attract an additional penalty of ₹5,000 per day. Repeat violators may also face disconnection of civic amenities such as water and electricity, and withdrawal of approvals or recognitions granted by authorities.

• The bye-laws further provide for compounding of offences, summary trial of non-compounded offences by the Special Judicial Magistrate First Class, and empower the Commissioner to permit temporary hoardings in exceptional public interest cases for up to seven days. The Commissioner will also notify rates for the erection and display of hoardings from time to time.
