The Department of Excise and Taxation, Govt of Himachal Pradesh on April 10, 2026, issued an amendment to the Himachal Pradesh Liquor License Rules, 1986.
In rule 38, after sub-rule 38 (1) a proviso shall be added as under:-
“The wholesale (L-1) in District Shimla shall be allowed to operate by H.P. Civil Supply Corporation for the year 2026-27 on the fixed license fee of Rs. 5 lakh.” Further, the condition with respect to bona fide residents of Himachal Pradesh for grant of license in form L-1 shall not apply to the competent State Corporations, PSUs (Centre & State), and Urban Local Bodies for the financial year 2026-27.”
