The Government of Himachal Pradesh, on April 10, 2026, issued a notification regarding amendments to the Himachal Pradesh Liquor License Rules, 1986.
The following has been stated:-
•The amendment adds a proviso to Rule 38, specifically authorizing the H.P. Civil Supply Corporation to operate wholesale (L-13) licenses in District Shimla for the 2026-27 financial year for a fixed fee of Rs. 5 lakh. Furthermore, the document waives the "bona fide resident" requirement for granting L-13 licenses to competent State Corporations, PSUs, and Urban Local Bodies during this period.
•This administrative adjustment streamlines wholesale liquor operations and licensing eligibility for government-linked entities within the state.
•It will be implemented effectively immediately.
