The Government of Odisha, on April 28, 2026, issued a notification regarding amendments to the Odisha Homestays Establishment Scheme-2025 Operational Guidelines.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Odisha has issued amendments to the Odisha Homestays Establishment Scheme-2025 Operational Guidelines.
•The revised notification updates the list of eligible Gram Panchayats for financial incentives and removes certain clauses related to eligibility and operations.
•The Department of Tourism will now allocate cluster-wise targets based on destination potential, while excess eligible applications will be selected through a transparent lottery or computerized randomization process.
•Homestay registrations will remain valid for five years, and renewals will be processed automatically through the Go-Homestay Portal upon payment of a ₹500 renewal fee.
•Field verification of properties will be conducted by empanelled third-party agencies under the supervision of the State Level Homestay Committee.
•Financial incentives will be disbursed based on physical completion certificates and geo-tagged photographs verified through the Go-Homestay Portal.
