Industry Specific ComplianceThe Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) May 05, 2026, issued a consultative paper for determination of generic levelised tariff for FY 2026-27 for power generated from renewable energy sources under the BERC (Terms and Conditions for Tariff Determination from Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations, 2025.

The Commission has proposed generic tariff determination for Biomass Power Projects with Rankine Cycle technology, non-fossil fuel based co-generation plants, biomass gasifier power projects and MSW/RDF projects based on Rankine cycle. The proposed tariff will apply to renewable energy projects commissioned up to March 31, 2027 and will continue thereafter until a subsequent tariff order is notified.

BERC has invited comments, suggestions and objections from stakeholders by May 22, 2026. The public hearing on the draft proposal is scheduled for May 26, 2026 at 11:30 AM in the Commission’s courtroom at Patna. The draft tariff proposal has been uploaded on the official website of Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission.
