Industry Specific ComplianceThe Energy Department, Govt. of Rajasthan on May 11, 2026, notified regarding the Certification and Inspection Requirements for Electrical Installations under CEA Safety Regulations, 2023.

The following has been stated:

• Under the notification, electrical installations connected up to 33 kV may either be self-certified by the owner, supplier or consumer, or certified by an Electrical Inspector through the departmental portal, depending on the option exercised. Installations connected above 33 kV must mandatorily be certified by an Electrical Inspector. 

• The notification further mandates compulsory inspection and certification by an Electrical Inspector for multi-storied buildings above 15 metres in height, underground electrical installations in first basements, cinema halls, hospitals, theatres, hotels, religious places, educational institutions, malls, and other places involving large public gatherings or VIP visits. 

• Suppliers are permitted to energize installations only after receipt of self-certification or inspection certificates through the departmental portal. All other safety and compliance requirements under the CEA Safety Regulations, 2023, and subsequent amendments will continue to apply.
