The Municipal Corporation Hamirpur, Government of Himachal Pradesh, on April 28, 2026, issued the Private Parking Rules.
The following has been stated:-
•Municipal Corporation Hamirpur has issued new rules for establishing and operating private parking facilities under Section 395 of the HP Municipal Act, 1994.
•All private parking operators must obtain prior permission and licensing from the Corporation, and parking facilities can only be set up on legally owned or leased land without obstructing public access.
•The rules mandate proper infrastructure, lighting, CCTV surveillance, fire safety measures, and display of approved parking charges in Hindi and English.
•Operators are responsible for cleanliness, orderly traffic management, and preventing nuisance, while the Corporation will not be liable for vehicle theft or damage.
•Violations of the rules may result in monetary penalties, cancellation of licenses, and blacklisting for repeated offences.
The shall come into force on May 06, 2026.
