The Department of Labour and Skills (D), Kerala, on May 04, 2026, issued a notification regarding Medical Supplies in Plantation Hospitals.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Kerala has issued a notification under the Kerala Plantation Labour Rules, 1959, replacing the earlier 1993 notification regarding medical facilities in plantations.
•The notification prescribes a revised list of medicines, equipment, and drugs that must be stocked quarterly in Group Hospitals, Garden Hospitals, and Dispensaries in plantation areas.
•The schedule includes essential medicines such as anaesthetics, analgesics, antacids, anti-asthmatics, anti-coagulants, and other emergency drugs.
•Different quantities have been specified for Group Hospitals, Garden Hospitals, and Dispensaries based on their healthcare requirements. The notification aims to strengthen healthcare facilities and ensure proper medical support for plantation workers across the state.
