The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Department of Pharmaceuticals, issued a retail price fixation order under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 for the formulation “Each film coated tablet contains: Sitagliptin Phosphate Monohydrate IP equivalent to Sitagliptin 50 mg + Glimepiride IP 1 mg + Metformin Hydrochloride IP 500 mg” manufactured by M/s Exemed Pharmaceuticals and marketed by M/s Alkem Wellness Ltd. The notification pertains to File No. 19(5138)/2026/DP/NPPA/Div.II.
Under the price computation carried out by NPPA, the worked-out retail price for the formulation was determined at ₹10.39 per tablet excluding GST, whereas the claimed price submitted by the company was ₹13.93 per tablet excluding GST. After examination under the provisions of DPCO, 2013, the proposed retail price has been fixed at ₹10.39 per tablet excluding GST.
The notified retail price shall apply to the concerned manufacturer and marketer in accordance with the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 along with applicable GST and related compliance obligations.
