The Government of Madhya Pradesh, on May 11, 2026, issued amendments in the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Admission Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated:-
•The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board has amended the Nursing Educational Institutions Admission Rules, 2024, by officially defining the entrance examination as the Pre-Nursing Selection Test (PNST) for B.Sc. Nursing admissions.
•The Board will exclusively conduct the entrance examination, while the Director must publish an annual admission calendar specifying timelines for all counselling rounds.
•Merit lists will be displayed online according to the revised Schedule IV criteria, and an additional counselling round may be held for vacant seats with Commissioner Approval.
•The amended rules also require B.Sc. nursing candidates to secure at least 40% marks in Class 12 and separately pass English, although candidates from NSQF-recognized healthcare courses are exempt from the English requirement.
•Further, the minimum admission age has been fixed at 17 years as on December 31 of the admission year, and tie-breaking in merit ranking will prioritize older candidates, followed by alphabetical order of names.
