Industry Specific ComplianceThe Municipal Corporation Una, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on April 24, 2026, notified the Municipal Corporation Una (Registration and Control of Pet Dogs) Bye-laws, 2026.

This shall take effect from May 11, 2026.

The following has been stated:

• The Bye-laws mandate compulsory registration of pet dogs above 3 months with fees, vaccination proof, and issuance of a registration token.

• Owners shall ensure hygiene, vaccination, sterilization, proper care, and prevent nuisance, with a limit of two dogs per family (unless permitted).

• Stray or unregistered dogs can be seized, and owners are liable for penalties and damages, and must report dog bite incidents within 24 hours.

• Breeders and dog care centres must register, maintain records, and comply with specific fees and operational conditions.

• Violations can attract fines up to ₹5,000 plus daily penalties, and appeals can be made to the Commissioner within 30 days.
