NSE notified regarding the Membership of Electronic Gold Receipt segment of NCL

Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE) on April 29, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Membership of Electronic Gold Receipt segment of NCL.

The following has been stated namely: -

• NSE Clearing Limited (NCL) has received approval from Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to carry out clearing and settlement of trades in the Electronic Gold Receipt (EGR) segment of National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE). 

• Entities wishing to become Self-Clearing Members (SCM), Clearing Members (CM), or Professional Clearing Members (PCM) in the EGR segment must apply to NCL as per the prescribed membership process. 

• Existing NCL members can apply for additional EGR segment membership through the online NCL Member Portal, while new entities must apply through the standard NCL admission process and online membership application system. 

• Members approved in the EGR segment must separately apply for segment enablement by submitting the required registration documents. 

• Deposit requirements for EGR membership are: 

o Clearing / Professional Clearing Members: ₹25 lakh cash + ₹75 lakh non-cash deposit 

o Self-Clearing Members: ₹15 lakh cash + ₹85 lakh non-cash deposit

Net worth requirements will be as per Chapter X of the SEBI (Stock Brokers) Regulations, 2026, and annual clearing fees will be specified by SEBI.
