The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on May 11, 2026, issued a circular regarding amendments to NSDL Bye Laws and Business Rules pertaining to the processing of investor service requests for dematerialisation of securities.
The following has been stated:-
•National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) has amended its Bye Laws and Business Rules relating to processing investor service requests for dematerialisation of securities.
•The amendments cover changes to Bye Law 9.2 on dematerialisation and updates to Business Rules relating to dematerialisation procedures and record maintenance by issuers and RTAs.
•NSDL has also introduced new forms for processing dematerialisation-related requests, including forms for transposition, transmission, and signature variation, along with demat conversion requests.
•Participants have been advised to take note of the revised provisions and ensure compliance with the updated framework.
•The circular also highlighted upcoming compliance deadlines for investor grievance reports, internal audit reports, multiple account mobile/email reporting, and annual AI/ML reporting submissions.
