Secretarial ComplianceThe Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on May 13, 2026, issued a notification regarding the applicability of the Short Term Additional Surveillance Measure (STASM).

The following has been stated:-

•The stock exchange has revised the Short-Term Additional Surveillance Measure (ST-ASM) framework and identified certain securities for inclusion under Stage I and Stage II surveillance.

•For Stage I securities, a margin of 50% or the existing margin, whichever is higher, will apply from May 15, 2026, while Stage II securities will attract a 100% margin requirement.

•These enhanced margins will apply to all open positions as of May 14, 2026, and to new positions created from May 15, 2026, onwards.

•The exchange clarified that inclusion of securities in the ASM framework is purely a market surveillance measure and should not be treated as an adverse action against the concerned companies.
