The Manipur Electricity Regulatory Commission (MnERC) on May 12, 2026, issued the Manipur Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code) (Nineteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, further to amend the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Manipur and Mizoram (Electricity Supply Code) Regulations, 2013.
It shall come into force with effect from May 12, 2026.
It states that Regulation 4.29 shall be amended as –
(1) All electrical installations having voltage levels below and equal to 440V shall be inspected, tested, and self-certified by the owner/ consumer/supplier, as applicable.
(2) Electrical installations having voltage levels above 440V shall continue to be inspected and tested by the Electrical Inspector.
Further, all safety measures and conditions related to electric supply shall be strictly complied with in accordance with the provisions of the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2023.
