The Department of Labour, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, on May 14, 2026, issued an advisory on Work-From-Home Implementation for Fuel Conservation.
The following has been stated:-
•To conserve petrol, diesel, and CNG, employers in Delhi are strongly encouraged to implement at least two days of work-from-home per week for eligible staff, maintaining a maximum workforce strength of 50%.
•Private sector employers are further advised to adopt staggered working hours, promote public transport and car-pooling, and shift to virtual meetings to reduce vehicular load.
•Additionally, the advisory urges citizens to commit to the "Mera Bharat - Mera Yogdan" campaign by reducing fuel and edible oil consumption while supporting local Indian products.
•While essential services like hospitals, electricity, and water are exempt, all other industrial and commercial establishments are requested to sensitize their workforce to these fuel-saving measures.
