Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE) on May 14, 2026, issued a circular regarding amendments to the NSE Refiner Standards for Gold conforming to BIS Standards for the creation of Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs).

The following has been stated:-

•NSE has issued revised standards for gold refiners producing BIS-compliant gold bars and coins.

•Gold refined by approved refiners meeting the updated NSE Refiner Standards will be accepted as good delivery for creating NSE Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs).

•The updated framework for NSE Refiner Standards for Gold (Bars & Coins) is provided in Annexure 1 of the circular.

•Gold bars and coins from already empaneled NSE refiners will continue to be eligible for EGR creation and trading on the NSE platform.
