The Government of Maharashtra, on May 13, 2026, issued measures by the State Government in response to the West Asian Crisis.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Maharashtra outlined strategic measures to address the West Asian crisis following an appeal by the Prime Minister.
•To conserve foreign exchange and resources, the state has cancelled all foreign study tours for officials and mandated the use of public transport, carpooling, and video conferencing for official meetings.
•Energy conservation efforts include prioritizing electric vehicles, promoting the "PM Surya Ghar" solar scheme, and maintaining air conditioning temperatures between 24-26°C.
•Additionally, the circular directs a reduction in edible oil consumption, a shift toward natural farming to reduce chemical fertilizer dependency, and the promotion of Piped Natural Gas (PNG).
•All administrative departments are further instructed to avoid appointing new consultants for the next six months and minimize advertising expenses to prevent unnecessary expenditure.
