The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on May 15, 2026, notified regarding the CAQM’s 28th Full Commission Meeting, which reviews Key agenda items about the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution in Delhi-NCR.
The following has been stated:
• It states that the Commission for Air Quality Management approved several key measures to control air pollution in Delhi-NCR during its 28th meeting held on May 15, 2026. Major actions include approval of plans to eliminate paddy stubble burning in 2026, phased mandatory registration of only electric L5 category three-wheelers across NCR between 2027 and 2029, and restriction on fuel supply to vehicles without valid PUCC certificates from October 1, 2026.
• The Commission also directed stricter action against rising wheat stubble burning cases, approved installation of 46 additional air quality monitoring stations, reviewed annual pollution control action plans and plantation targets of around 4.60 crore trees and shrubs, and assessed enforcement actions, including penalties of over ₹61.85 crore on non-compliant thermal power plants and inspections of more than 27,000 sites across NCR.
