The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on May 15, 2026, amended an older notification No. 06/2026-Central Excise, dated March 26, 2026, related to Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) on petroleum products.
The following has been stated:-
•In the notification, in the Table,-
(i)Against serial number 1, in column (4), for the entry, the entry “Rs. 3 per litre” shall be substituted.
(ii)Against serial number 2, in column (4), for the entry, the entry “Rs. 16.5 per litre” shall be substituted
This notification shall come into force with effect from May 16, 2026.
