The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC) on March 23, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Directions regarding registration of industries of Delhi-NCR on CPCB web portal to monitor installation/retro-fitment of APCDs to comply with revised PM emission standards.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Under Section 18(1)(b) of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, NGT directions mandate SPCBs and DPCC in Delhi-NCR to ensure strict compliance for pollution control in industries.
• Commissioning deadlines for APCDs are set as July 31, 2026 for large and medium industries and September 30, 2026 for remaining industries to meet revised PM emission norms prescribed by CAQM.
• Non-compliant units must be closed, with action including revocation of CTO, disconnection of electricity through DISCOM/DM, and sealing of premises, along with reporting of such defaulting units.
• SPCBs/DPCC are required to acknowledge receipt immediately and submit weekly action-taken reports to CPCB.
