The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoL&E) on May 15, 2026, issued a notification regarding Aadhaar Authentication for the Shram Suvidha Portal.
The following has been stated:-
•The Ministry of Labour & Employment has enabled voluntary Aadhaar authentication on the Shram Suvidha Portal to simplify identity verification and improve labour law compliance processes.
•The portal serves as a unified digital platform connecting employers and enforcement agencies for ease of doing business.
•The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, after consultation with Unique Identification Authority of India, approved the use of Aadhaar authentication under the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Rules, 2020.
•Authentication will be limited to Yes/No and e-KYC verification for user identity validation on the portal, ensuring transparency and efficient service delivery.
This notification shall come into effect from May 16, 2026.
