The following has been stated:

• The Government has issued a regulatory framework for shrimp farming in inland saline areas of the state, particularly for the cultivation of L. vannamei shrimp. The framework aims to regulate shrimp aquaculture, ensure bio-security standards, and maintain product quality in line with international norms.

• Under the new framework, shrimp farming in inland waters cannot be undertaken without prior permission and mandatory registration. The policy seeks to promote sustainable aquaculture practices while preventing disease outbreaks and environmental risks. 

• It also establishes guidelines for monitoring, approvals, and compliance for shrimp farmers operating in saline inland regions of the state.
