The Ministry of Power on May 18, 2026, issued a notification regarding enforcement of Jan Vishwas Amendments relating to the Electricity Act, 2003.
The Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (2) of Section 1 of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026, has notified June 1, 2026, as the effective date for bringing into force the provisions related to Serial Number 58 and the corresponding entries in the Schedule of the Act concerning the Electricity Act, 2003.
Accordingly, the specified amendments under the Jan Vishwas Act pertaining to the Electricity Act, 2003, will become operational from the said date.
