Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE) on May 19, 2026, issued a notification regarding mandatory insurance cover for FY 2026-27.

The following has been stated:

All trading members are required to maintain a valid Stock Brokers Indemnity Insurance Policy for FY 2026–27 in accordance with the SEBI directive dated January 19, 1996. Trading members whose policies expire on May 31, 2026, are required to submit renewed policy details electronically through ENIT on or before July 31, 2026, while members with policies expiring on any other date must submit the renewed policy details within one month from the expiry date.

Further, it is clarified that submissions will be accepted only in electronic format through ENIT, and the procedure for submission is provided in Annexure I of the circular. Members covered under insurance policies arranged through ANMI and BBF are exempt from submitting policy details through ENIT. The exchange also warned that failure to comply within the prescribed timelines would be treated as non-compliance and could result in disciplinary action as per NSE circular NSE/INSP/73792 dated April 17, 2026.
