Labour ComplianceThe Board of Apprenticeship Training (Northern Region) on May 14, 2026, issued circular on Implementation of Revised Minimum Prescribed Stipend Rates under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), with effect from April 01, 2026.

As per communication from the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the minimum stipend rates under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) have been revised with effect from April 1, 2026.

The revised monthly stipends are ₹9,600 for vocational (technician) apprentices, ₹10,900 for diploma (technician) apprentices, and ₹12,300 for graduate apprentices, replacing the earlier rates of ₹7,000, ₹8,000, and ₹9,000 respectively. These are minimum prescribed amounts, and establishments are encouraged to pay higher stipends if feasible.

The Government of India will bear 50% of the prescribed minimum stipend, which will be disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). All establishments are instructed to implement the revised rates and ensure compliance in stipend payments to apprentices.
