Secretarial ComplianceThe Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on May 19, 2026, notified regarding the Revision of the Monthly Cumulative Report (MCR) Format.

The following has been stated:

• It has revised the format of the Monthly Cumulative Report (MCR) applicable to Mutual Funds, Asset Management Companies (AMCs), Trustees, and AMFI. The revised reporting structure will be effective from June 2026 onwards.

• Key changes in the revised MCR include:

o Introduction of updated scheme categories aligned with SEBI’s new mutual fund categorisation norms,

o Separate reporting formats for Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs),

o More detailed disclosure requirements relating to: Assets Under Management (AUM), Folios, Fund inflows and outflows, SIP registrations and closures, Segregated portfolios, and Scheme-wise statistics.

• The revised framework also expands reporting classifications across debt, equity, hybrid, ETF, index funds, overseas funds, and life-cycle fund categories to enhance consistency and regulatory oversight.

• SEBI clarified that all other existing conditions related to submission timelines and reporting procedures under the Mutual Fund Master Circular will continue unchanged.
