Finance & Taxation Compliance The Government of Goa on May 18, 2026, issued the Goa Motor Vehicles Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, further to amend the Goa Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1974.

The Government has amended the Schedule by revising the tax structure for construction equipment vehicles under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. Such vehicles will now be subject to either an annual tax of 1% of the vehicle cost or a one-time tax of 9% of the vehicle cost, payable at the time of registration.
