Industry Specific ComplianceThe Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) on May 20, 2026, issued a circular regarding compliance with directions issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on the usage of designated numbering series for service, transactional, and promotional calls.

The following has been stated:

It has reminded Trading Members to comply with TRAI directions mandating the use of specific numbering series for different categories of voice calls.

Trading Members must use the 1600xx-series numbers exclusively for service and transactional voice calls, while 140xx-series numbers are to be used only for promotional calls. Members have been advised to strictly adhere to these guidelines in accordance with TRAI directions issued on November 19, 2025.
