Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Communications (MoC) on May 15, 2026, notified regarding the revised Telecom Equipment Standards under the Telecommunication Act, 2023.

The following has been stated:

• The Government has notified revised technical standards for various telecommunication equipment under the Telecommunication Act, 2023, and the Telecommunications (Framework to Notify Standards, Conformity Assessment and Certification) Rules, 2025. The revised standards come into effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

• The updated standards cover key telecom and network infrastructure equipment, including LAN Switches, Firewall Systems, Element Management Systems (eMS) for Next Generation Networks (NGN), Network Management Systems, Signalling Transfer Points (STP), Signalling Gateways (SG), Trunk Media Gateways (TMG), and Fraud Management and Control Centres (FMCC). The notification aims to strengthen telecom equipment quality, interoperability, security, and compliance requirements in the sector.
