Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on May 21, 2026, issued a circular regarding the fee and other charges for the assignment of spectrum for Public Mobile Radio Trunking Service and its terms of payment.

The following has been stated:-

•The Central Government has notified revised fees and payment terms for the spectrum assigned to the Public Mobile Radio Trunking Service (PMRTS) under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885.

•PMRTS licensees can choose between an annual spectrum fee payment or a one-time upfront payment option, depending on link distance and spectrum usage within a Licensed Service Area (LSA).

•Under the annual payment option, fees range from ₹1,200 to ₹2,400 per year per 6.25 kHz spectrum, while upfront payment ranges from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000, valid for five years.

•In addition to spectrum fees, licensees must pay a Radio Station fee equal to 1% of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) as per Unified License conditions.
