The Government of Madhya Pradesh on May 18, 2026, issued the draft amendments to the Madhya Pradesh Krishi Upaj Mandi (Allotment of Land and Structures) Rules, 2009.
The following has been amended:
• Key amendments include the introduction of e-auction/e-tendering for allotment of market lands and structures through online portals/websites as directed by the Managing Director of the State Agricultural Marketing Board.
• The amendments prescribe detailed procedures for online bidding, technical and financial bid scrutiny, earnest money deposits, auction committee constitution, and bid approval mechanisms.
• The revised rules also mandate publication of auction advertisements in two major Hindi newspapers and online portals at least 15 days before the auction. Provisions relating to reserve price, upset price, earnest money calculation, technical eligibility, online payment methods, and refund of deposits have also been introduced.
• Additionally, the amendments provide for the constitution of a formal Auction Committee consisting of market committee officials, district administration representatives, engineering officers, and board officials to oversee the auction process. Reserved plots for SC/ST categories may be treated as unreserved if no eligible bidders participate.
• The last date for submitting objections or suggestions is June 17, 2026.
