The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on May 18, 2026, notified regarding the Systematic Improvement regarding the Procurement Process.
The following has been stated:
• It has introduced a mandatory disclosure requirement in procurement processes to enhance transparency and prevent conflicts of interest. The decision follows observations that family members of ESIC officers or officials were engaged in trade or business activities connected with procurement contracts.
• Under the new requirement, bidders, contractors, suppliers, or sellers must disclose if they, their employees, or representatives are related to any regular or contractual ESIC officer/official, or if any ESIC officer’s relative has a financial interest or stake in the bidding entity. Failure to disclose such relationships will lead to cancellation of participation in the procurement process.
• ESIC has directed all its offices and units to incorporate this clause in all tender documents, RFPs, notices inviting tenders, rate contracts, limited tenders, and other procurement-related documents, irrespective of procurement value or mode.
