Industry Specific ComplianceThe Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on May 22, 2026, notified regarding the Updates for Implementation of Section 51A of UAPA, 1967: Updates to UNSC’s 1267/ 1989 ISIL (Da'esh) & Al-Qaida Sanctions List - Removal of 7 entries.

The following has been stated:

• SEBI has informed exchanges and market intermediaries about updates issued by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Sanctions Committee, including the removal of seven entries from the sanctions list.

• Members have been advised to follow the procedures prescribed under Section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and SEBI’s AML/CFT guidelines. Intermediaries must scan all existing and future accounts to ensure that no accounts are linked to individuals or entities appearing in the UNSC sanctions lists related to ISIL (Da'esh), Al-Qaida, and Taliban.

• The circular also directs members to forward any delisting requests received to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs and inform affected individuals/entities about the UN Ombudsperson mechanism for delisting applications. SEBI has advised market participants to regularly monitor updates available under the “UNSC Sanctions Committee List” section on its website and ensure necessary compliance.
