The Department of Economics & Statistics, Govt. of Kerala on May 19, 2026, issued the Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Industrial Workers for April 2026.
The following has been stated:
• It states that most centres recorded either stable or marginally increased index values in April 2026 compared to March 2026.
• Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Mundakayam, Palakkad, Malappuram, Wayanad, and Kannur showed increases in CPI.
• Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Punalur, Chalakkudy, and Kozhikode remained unchanged.
• Idukki, Thrissur, and Kasargod recorded slight decreases in index numbers.
• The highest April 2026 estimated index (Base 1998-99 = 100) was recorded in Mundakayam at 497, while the lowest was in Idukki at 431.
