Labour ComplianceThe Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), on May 22, 2026, issued a circular cautioning employees against making direct or indirect attempts to interfere with or influence court matters being defended on behalf of the Corporation by its counsels.

The circular states that it has come to the notice of the Competent Authority that certain employee-litigants were approaching ESIC counsels directly or through relatives, friends or their own advocates with requests not to effectively plead or press matters before courts and tribunals. ESIC has termed such conduct as illegal, unethical and amounting to misconduct under the applicable conduct rules.

The authority has directed all employees to strictly refrain from any attempt to improperly influence the handling or outcome of litigation involving the Corporation. It has further warned that any such instances detected in future would invite disciplinary action. All Regional Offices, Sub-Regional Offices, Medical Institutions, Training Institutes and other ESIC offices have been instructed to circulate the advisory among officers and officials for strict compliance.
