The Indian Clearing Corporation Limited (ICCL) on May 05, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Definition of Service, Transactional and Promotional communication as per TCCCPR-2018.
The following has been stated namely: -
• ICCL issued this notice as a continuation of its earlier notice dated June 27, 2025 regarding compliance with TRAI directives.
• TRAI mandated that entities in the BFSI sector must use only 1600xx-series numbers for service and transactional voice calls.
• TRAI also directed that all promotional calls must be made only through 140xx-series numbers.
• SEBI has advised all regulated entities and intermediaries to strictly follow TRAI’s directions and guidelines issued from time to time.
• The notice reiterates mandatory compliance requirements and includes Annexure-1 containing definitions of transactional, service, and promotional calls under the Telecom Commercial Communications Preference Regulations, 2018.
