DoT Issued Directive on Blocking of Unauthorised Sports Streaming Websites — HC Order Compliance

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Telecommunications (DoT) issued a directive to all licensees holding Internet Service Authorization pursuant to the order passed by the High Court of Delhi in CS (COMM) 807/2025: Sporta Technologies Pvt. Ltd. versus John Doe and Ors dated August 08, 2025.

Under the directive, DoT enclosed the Court’s order along with a list of four identified websites/domains alleged to be involved in unauthorised streaming activities infringing sports broadcasting rights. Referring to Paragraph 30(c) of the Court order and the list submitted by the plaintiff’s counsel, licensees were instructed to immediately block access to the specified websites/domains in compliance with the Court’s directions.
